Iwate Prefectural Citizens’ Forest (Carpentry Center)

Once each month, the Carpentry Center holds a workshop where people can come try woodworking and leave with an immediately usable item that they can be proud of having made themselves, ranging from bookstands and rocking horses to small tables and chairs. Such items also make amazing gifts!

They publish the details of these workshops and other events on their website, so you can easily plan around them for a trip. But even if you can’t make one of the planned activities, they offer smaller projects that can be completed any time, such as tissue boxes and photo frames, and they welcome inquiries about special requests.
Friends and family can get together to make memories and woodcrafts, here at the Carpentry Center.
