Iwate Yakehashiri International Exchange Village – Yakehashiri no Yu
This is a natural hot spring bath located at the foot of Mt. Iwate in the Yakehashiri International Exchange Village, which has a campground, an observatory, and the mysterious Yakehashiri Lava Flow. Why not take a bath in the hot spring while gazing at the trees and the sky, and feeling the power of the Yakehashiri Lava Flow?
The spring is a simple hot spring (hypotonic weak alkaline spring). There are two types of gender segregated bathing areas, one Western style and one Japanese style, and they are each switched from men to women every week. It is a great place to relax after a long day of hiking in the mountains or exploring the vast lava flow area. There is also a restaurant inside the hot spring house that specializes in Hachimantai mushroom and local pork dishes.
